About Me

I am an anthropologist who is fascinated by the innate human capacity for adaptation and self-reliance. I have over a decade of experience doing longitudinal fieldwork in a post-conflict environment studying the re-making of communal life in a context of contested return. I see myself as a quiet observer of human behaviour and interactions with a high level of empathy and an ability to understand the deep drivers of peoples’ actions.

I am interested in how to combine digital ethnography with organisational and communal ethnography (combining methods in an agile way), and my work has shown how online social networks can sometimes fill structural holes in physical social networks caused by conflict and displacement.

I have a PhD in Social Anthropology from UCL as well as practical experience applying my knowledge to real-world situations of community repair and development.
